The name “G.U.Group” originates from a play on the word “自由” (jiyū), which means “freedom” in Japanese. It reflects the idea of pursuing free and innovative endeavors, similar to “summer research projects in schools,” which led to the establishment of a company named G.U.Labs. In an era of significant changes in the business environment, the company embodies the spirit of creating “a freer and more enjoyable world” through “free” ways of working and thinking.

Web3 business has the potential to profoundly transform society and business. Particularly in core elements of the economic society such as finance, assets and transactions, and organizations, new services and products could completely replace existing ones. We believe that through the transformation enabled by Web3.0 business, we can realize a freer and more enjoyable world.

However, achieving the vision of the web3 world requires not only technological advancements but also a reassessment of market structures and institutional frameworks, which often involve significant gaps from the current state. In particular, the financial industry is constrained by regulations, and we need to simultaneously work on dismantling these existing regulations rather than working freely from scratch.

At G.U.Group, our current goal is to build and provide a safe blockchain infrastructure, working on everything from user-side wallets to infrastructure-side blockchains. By reforming regulations through blockchain technology and enhancing IT/financial infrastructure worldwide, we believe that concepts and notions will shift dramatically, leading to new businesses, organizations, and ways of working—ultimately transforming "ways of life" itself.

To realize this world, there is much work to be done beyond product development, including regulatory reforms and the creation of new rules. During this process, we may encounter entirely new, uncharted scenarios. When that happens, let's think creatively about "what kind of rails are needed" or "whether something other than rails might be better," and collaboratively create new approaches together.
